• Amnesty International

At Amnesty, countless people are involved, each contributing in their own way to fighting injustice. From researchers reporting on human rights violations, lobbyists engaging with authorities, people developing educational programs to promote the importance of human rights, creative minds designing effective campaigns, to individuals participating in actions and raising funds to make our work possible. Together, we are Amnesty International.

• Food Banks Netherlands

Food Banks Netherlands helps people who are temporarily living in poverty by providing free food. This is done with volunteers and as much as possible with food that would otherwise be wasted.

In the Netherlands, too many people still live below the poverty line. Food banks support people who are temporarily struggling financially by providing them with food assistance. The food they distribute comes as much as possible from surplus streams.

This helps ease the lives of people in poverty, reduces food waste, and lessens the environmental burden. To help clients become self-sufficient again, food banks collaborate with other organizations and municipalities. The goal is for food aid to remain temporary, summarized as: “a package with a pathway.” They aim to be as accessible as possible.

• Water Warriors is a project of the IDEA Universal Association, founded under the leadership of Hayri Dağlı.

Some of the stories of tens of thousands of people whose lives we have changed together were featured in the documentary “Water Wars” broadcast on TRT. Hayri, the founder of IDEA Universal Association, visited the village of Mta Kwa Mtu during a trip to Africa, a dream he had cherished since childhood.

Fatime, who lived in the same village, had to walk 6 hours a day to reach water. Deeply moved by this, Hayri bought a one-way ticket to Africa in 2014. He experienced what it is like to live on less than a dollar a day to understand the stories of people in poor and forgotten regions. He then solved the village’s water problem with his own resources and launched a sustainable agriculture project.

• Meleklerin Abisi Association for Humanitarian Aid

A movement of kindness in the Çankaya district of Ankara: Yasin Kirazlı
Who is Yasin Kirazlı?
The 32-year-old Yasin Kirazlı is a barber in the Çankaya district of Ankara. Having worked successfully in the sector for many years, he is now making a name for himself with a very special project. He touches the lives of girls who have lost their hair for various reasons by making wigs from “real hair”.

Launch and expansion of the project: Through a campaign he started on social media, Yasin Kirazlı receives hair donations from all 81 provinces of Turkey. Thanks to the campaign and the contributions of volunteers across the country, many girls now have wigs with a natural look.

Ankara Abisi Kindness Association is a movement of conscience founded in January 2021. The association aims to give everyone the opportunity to live under equal conditions and to raise children in a healthy and conscious way. Along this path, continued with its volunteers, it helps not only people but also our silent friends (animals) and nature.
